Red Dog (2011)
A feel-good film based on the legendary true story of Red Dog who united a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long lost master.
Starring Josh Lucas (Sweet Home Alabama) and Rachael Taylor (Transformers) Red Dog was filmed in the Australian mining area of the Pilbara in 2010, and released in 2011. It is the eighth-highest grossing Australian film of all time taking over $21.5m at the box office. The film was nominated for eight AACTA Awards, winning two including Best Film and the AFI Member’s Choice. The DVD is the biggest-selling Australian DVD of all time.
